Talking machines : THE technology of 2017 ?

May 23, 2017

By year-end 2017, there will be 10 million voice assistants operating in American and European homes. We’re already talking to chatbots, but that’s just a preliminary step in the march towards more natural, detailed conversations with our objects. How can machines be taught to intuit meaning from a conversation, like humans do?

Here is the opportunity to talk about the show “Futur en Seine” that will take place in Paris in June (8th to 18th June 2017), the Europe largest digital festival.

It is a 10-day program about the tomorrow’s technology and one topic has drawn my attention “Talking machines : voice, the new interface”. I’m looking forward hearing from this workshop as voices have always been the heart of interpretation at Antenna.

Even for the more immersive experience in a museum, the voice, the story has to be at the heart of each project or the experience could be just not “human” enough.

With talking machines and artificial intelligence, robots and chatbots can not only talk to the visitor but also dialog directly with him : how can we use those voices, making them alive enough, bring artworks to life and re-invent the visitor experience ?
