Luckily, though, empathy relies on more than reading facial expressions. In fact, new research is suggesting just how powerful the voice can be to help us connect, and it’s good news for our technological lifestyle.

It’s always nice to have something you believe in passionately confirmed by science – at Antenna we often talk about the power of audio, and its ability to truly enhance a visitor’s experience to any manner of cultural institution.

And, as this recent study by Michael Kraus suggests, it seems that we’re right. The human brain is incredibly sensitive when it comes to picking up the nuances in tone, emotion, and ambience.

In 2018, we’ve already begun work on a number of projects which use binaural sound, immersive soundscapes, and multi-voice tour structures, so it’s awesome to hear (pun intended) that we’re on the right track to continue creating visitor experiences which get straight to the heart of the matter.
