The Bernisches Historisches Museum preserves the cultural heritage of the City and State of Bern, and exhibits approximately 500,000 objects from history, archaeology and ethnography. Notable items include: the hydria from Grächwil, the Burgundian tapestries, the diptych from Königsfelden, the Bernese sculptures and two Bernese mayoral thrones.

The Einstein Museum, part of The Bernisches Historisches Museum, is dedicated to the life and work of the famous physicist Albert Einstein.
