Housed in a complex that comprises a 13th-century convent, a former public bathhouse, and a modern addition by Herzog & de Meuron, Musée Unterlinden has a collection that spans the 6th century through today. Its most famous work is the Isenheim Altarpiece by Matthias Grünewald, but the collection is also known for its archaeological treasures, medieval and Renaissance works, decorative arts, and modern art.
