The largest and most visited museum in the Netherlands, the Rijksmuseum was founded in The Hague in 1800 and moved to Amsterdam in 1808. The museum’s collection of Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day boasts one million objects, 8,000 of which are on display, including masterpieces by Rembrandt, Frans Hals, and Johannes Vermeer, as well as a small Asian collection, which is exhibited in the Asian pavilion.

Client profile The Rijksmuseum, located in Amsterdam, is a Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history in Amsterdam. Designed by Pierre Cuypers, the museum opened in its current location in 1885. The museum underwent a major renovation in 2003, and after reopening its doors, it became the most visited museum in the Netherlands with nearly 3 million people visiting each year. The museum most notably displays masterpieces by Rembrandt, Frans Hals, Johannes Vermeer and many more.
