Designed by François Mansart in the 1640s when the famed architect was at the height of his career, Château de Maisons is one of the best examples of French architecture that combines both classical and baroque styles. The castle stands on the edge of Saint-Germain forest, in a northwest suburb of Paris, and welcomed King XIV, after he had been hunting, with special rooms and the famous Cabinet des Miroirs.
