Jersey War Tunnels

City: St Helier
Country: United Kingdom
Year Founded: 1944
Type of Institution: Historic and Heritage

German occupying forces constructed the Jersey War Tunnels during World War II. The tunnels consist of over 1 kilometer of tunnels which were used as a hospital complex and to store military vehicles. The tunnels now house a permanent exhibition to help visitors understand what life was like during World War II. The Garden of Reflection offers an opportunity for quiet contemplation.
