Mission San Juan Capistrano welcomes over 300,000 visitors each year. The mission was the 7th of 21 California missions, originally built by Spanish padres and Native Americans as a self-sufficient community. It is famous for the annual ‘Return of the Swallows’ event where people celebrate the coming of spring and return of swallows to Capistrano.
