National 9/11 Memorial and Museum

City: New York City
Country: USA
Year Founded: 2006
Type of Institution: Sacred and Solemn

The National September 11 Memorial and Museum serves as the country’s institution for remembering and examining the events of September 11 2001. It is a tribute to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks at the World Trade Center site, Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon, as well as the six-people killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993. The Memorial and Museum are a powerful reminder of the foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history.
