“But mommy… I don’t want to go to the museum!” – is a phrase I am sure parents have heard too many times. In fact, I hear this waiting in the admissions line all the time! Sad isn’t it, that there are still so many kids out there who are not engaged with, or exposed to, the wonder that can come with a museum experience? Thankfully, most museums have put in serious effort to turn this impression around (by turning those kids’ pouts into smiles!).
Today (or May 24th, depending on when you are reading this…) is #MusKids day, a day to promote and celebrate all the awesome experiences offered specifically for kids at cultural institutions across the world. Not sure where to take your kid for an experience they won’t moan and groan about? Below are a couple of my personal favorites Antenna has been honored to work with in creating valuable experiences for kids that inspire, engage, and delight:
Milwaukee Art Museum – Art-selfies, Art A-Z, and the kids narration surprises and delights ages 3+
Casa Azul Museo Frida Kahlo, Mexico – The scavenger hunt is sure to engage and inspire the next generation of great artists!
Space Center Houston – What kid doesn’t dream of going to space on an important mission? Collect badges and discover which role in the mission is right for you…
