What makes someone a good storyteller? Storytelling is something we all do naturally, starting at a young age, but there’s a difference between good storytelling and great storytelling. In this lesson you’ll hear from Pixar directors and story artists about how they got their start, what stories inspire them, and you’ll begin to think about what kinds of stories you might want to tell.
Only few people know about my passion for animation and the hours I spend trying to bring my little creations and objects to life. This explains my excitement when a new online storytelling course was announced last week by none other than Pixar! There are few studios in the world that can claim more expertise when it comes to storytelling than Pixar. Theory and practice of creative storytelling is one of the most inspiring parts of my work @AntennaIntl. It is what drives the experiences we create and what moves our listeners.
In Pixar in a Box Season 3: The Art of Storytelling from Khan Academy Labs and Pixar, movie directors and story artists from acclaimed animated films share their advice for storytelling. Pixar’s previous Khan Academy courses include topics like virtual cameras, effects and animations, but this is the first to focus on the less technical aspects of movie creation. Check it out, it’s free!
