With over 8 million visitors each year, the Louvre Museum is not only an iconic museum but a true piece of French history. The Louvre is the world’s most visited and largest museum and is also home to some of the most famous pieces of art, including Leonardo Da Vinci’s, Mona Lisa.
Challenge – providing an evolving service and maintaining brand integrity
Visitors to the Louvre can soak in and explore the museum’s vast collection of Western art from the Middle Ages to 1848, as well as ancient civilizations. The museum also provides another history for its visitors to discover.
The grand palace that the Louvre calls home dates back to the late twelfth century, with architects building and developing the museum from 1200 to 2011. Once a royal residence and later home to French heads of state until 1870, the Louvre is one of the key highlights of the history of Paris and of France.
Since 1996 Antenna International has aided the Louvre in sharing its timeless pieces of art and rich history with visitors from around the globe. As the number of visitors to the Louvre and the Louvre brand itself grew, so did their need for a trusted tour services supplier who could grow with them. Over the years Antenna International has continuously aided the museum in the ever-expanding growth, both inside and outside the walls of the museum.
Solution – a starting point and continuous service
In 1996 Antenna International began working with the Louvre to provide its base for a tour system. The Louvre was the starting point of recording interviews as content for tours. This new trend of narrative interviews ignited an industry trend of innovative tour styles that is still seen in museums and cultural spaces around the world today.
Since 1996, Antenna International has provided the Louvre with many different solutions, including:
  • 200 hours of multi-lingual audiovisual content
  • The world’s largest multimedia tour within a museum space
  • More than 1,000 tour stops in multiple languages
  • Themed tours based on interests and length of time available to visitors
  • Tours for children and visitors with physical disabilities
  • Museum on-site staff to aid in tour equipment distribution
In 2016 when the Louvre refurbished their entrances to the museum, Antenna was consulted as a valid think-tank for management of visitor welcome and flow. For over 20 years, Antenna International has aided the Louvre with their tour needs, no matter what they may be.
Outcome – brand expansion and visitor satisfaction
The Louvre in Paris is not only an iconic museum but an iconic brand. When the Louvre launched the Louvre-Lens, a regional branch of the Louvre in Northern France, in 2013, Antenna was selected again to provide their services, to maintain the brand integrity and carry over an excellent visitor experience.
Because of Antenna’s high level of service provided to the Louvre in Paris, they have secured their role as the Louvre’s trusted tour services provider. As they expand in November 2017 to launch the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Antenna will yet again provide their consistent services.
